About Pixel Paradise – Minecraft Bedrock Server
The first Minecraft Bedrock featured server designed with inclusion and roleplaying in mind, marketed as an alternative to PvP-heavy servers. Shut down in August 2023 after sustained criticism over pay-to-play mechanics.
Pixel Paradise was a Minecraft Bedrock Edition featured server developed by InPvP, a division of the publicly traded company Super League Gaming (Nasdaq: SLGG). It launched on July 21, 2021, and was marketed as "the very first Minecraft server in Bedrock designed with inclusion in mind." The server positioned itself as a deliberate alternative to the competitive, PvP-focused servers that dominated the featured server list, offering roleplaying, creative challenges, and casual minigames set on a colorful tropical island.
The server was built around the concept of a tropical vacation destination where players could explore signature locations like the Grand Paradise Hotel, Secret Beach, and the Pixel Aquarium. Rather than combat-first gameplay, Pixel Paradise emphasized creativity and resourcefulness. Multiple storylines were available, with regular updates planned based on player feedback. The economy used a custom currency called Paradise Points, which players earned through activities and could exchange for special items.
Over its two-year lifespan, Pixel Paradise featured eight distinct game modes: TNT Run, Spleef (a fast-paced last-person-standing puzzle), Guess Who, Islen of Adventure, Boat Battle, Volcano (a prison-style mining mode), Islands (a Skyblock-style survival experience), and CookCraft. Several of these modes, including CookCraft, required a paid "Play Pass" to access, which became a major point of contention in the community.
The pay-to-play model drew persistent and vocal criticism. With half of the server's game modes locked behind paywalls costing up to $20, Pixel Paradise earned a reputation as one of the worst-value propositions in the featured server ecosystem. Despite this criticism, the server maintained a daily player base, likely boosted by its prominent placement in the Bedrock server browser. On July 12, 2023, the Volcano and Islands modes were made free-to-play, but by then the writing was on the wall.
On July 28, 2023, the shutdown was officially announced. By August 17, 2023, Pixel Paradise was removed from the featured server list and the IP address was invalidated. CookCraft, one of the server's more developed modes, was migrated to the InPvP server on September 8, 2023. In May 2025, Super League Gaming sold the entire InPvP Minecraft property to Mineville LLC in an all-cash transaction, marking the company's exit from direct Minecraft server operations.
