Jordan Maron, known online as CaptainSparklez, is one of the foundational figures of Minecraft content creation. He created his YouTube channel on July 20, 2010 -- on a dare, as the story goes -- and started posting Minecraft videos that year. What began as a hobby quickly became a career: by April 2012 he had one million subscribers, and by September 2013 his channel became the fifth solo gaming channel to surpass one billion total views.

CaptainSparklez is best known for his Minecraft music video parodies, which are some of the most-watched Minecraft content ever created. "Revenge," a parody of Usher's "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" uploaded on August 19, 2011, has over 298 million views and holds three Guinness World Records including the most-watched Minecraft YouTube video. The "Fallen Kingdom" tetralogy -- a series of four narrative music videos set to parodies of popular songs, beginning with Coldplay's "Viva la Vida" -- is widely considered one of the most iconic creative works in Minecraft's history. "Fallen Kingdom" alone has over 164 million views.

Beyond music videos, Jordan built his audience on daily Let's Plays, modded survival series, and multiplayer content including the popular "Mianite" series. He was part of the Minecraft: Story Mode cast in 2016, voicing his own avatar. He signed with William Morris Endeavor in 2015 and launched the athleisure clothing brand Quality Content in 2020.
